APA Manual 7th Edition

Additional APA Resources

Using APA

Welcome to the CSUB's APA Style Guide.

The Style Manual has recently been updated to a 7th edition, 2020, so you'll find a side by side throughout this LibGuide. Refer to your instructor about which version should be used.

Here you'll find information about citing books, periodicals, newspapers, and electronic material in your APA reference page, as well as links to information about in-text citation formats. The topics covered in this guide refer to the 6th edition of the APA Publication Manual. There are additional types of sources that you might be interested in citing, and for those sources we recommend referring to the APA Publication Manual. For the most up to date information, you can also refer to the APA Style website.

To navigate this APA guide, click on the tab above that corresponds to the material you are interested in citing in APA format.  Additional APA resources are listed in the box below.

(Note: The American Psychological Association maintains a page of supplemental materials that are referenced from, but not printed in, the actual manual. A list of corrections to the first printing (July 2009) was released online. Please refer to this list for corrections that might not appear in your version of the APA Publication Manual.)
