How do I request books or articles through ILLIad?
Go to the CSUB Antelope Valley Request Screen and enter your MyCSUB information and click Login. Once in your account, scroll down to Change User Information and update your delivery location to reflect the closest delivery location.
To request a book?
Go to the CSUB Antelope Valley Request Screen and enter your MyCSUB information and click Login. Once in Illiad, scroll down to Request a Book, enter the title and author of your book, and click submit. Up to 99 books may be requested and checked out.
To request an article?
Go to the CSUB Antelope Valley Request Screen and enter your MyCSUB information and click Login. Once in Illiad, click Request an Article, enter the required information, and click submit.
Where do I pick up books?
Books are sent to the Library Resource Center in the 500 building of the Antelope Valley Campus. Books will be held for pick up for two weeks before being sent back to main campus.
How are articles sent to me?
Articles are made available electronically through your Illiad account. Go to Illiad, enter your MyCSUB information, and click Login. Then click View/Download Electronically Received Articles to view articles.
How long can I keep books?
Books from the Stiern Library check out for four weeks with the possibility of two renewals, in the event that there are no holds on the item, books may be renewed for an additional eight weeks.
Books received by CSUB-AV students through Interlibrary Loan have the checkout date set by the lending institution usually this is approximately four weeks. Renewal may or may not be allowed and should be requested through your Illiad account.
How can books be renewed?
Books from the Stiern Library may be renewed by clicking on Renew Books from the Library Webpage.
Interlibrary Loan books may be renewed through Illiad. To renew, go into your Illiad account and click View/Renew Checked Out Items.
What are the overdue charges?
How are books returned?
Books may be returned to CSUB-AV Room 500. They can be returned to the computer lab or library student assistants any time the computer lab is open. Books will be stored in a locked cabinet until they are packed and returned in shipment.
Books are not officially checked in until they return to main campus. However, the check-in date is set back to when the books were turned in at CSUBAV.
Students may return books directly to the Stiern Library in Bakersfield.

CSUB Antelope Valley students may access some textbooks through the Stiern Library. The CSUB Affordable Learning Solutions Textbook page provides information for students of the textbooks that are available as free eBooks in the Library.
In addition to this list you can search the library for additional print books and items that your professor may have put on reserve in the library.
