The library is migrating our EZproxy service (currently locally hosted) to a hosted environment. The EZproxy product allows remote users access to online databases via this prefix URL: https://falcon.lib.csub.edu.
We will be implementing a global string change on the campus web server and Canvas from falcon.lib.csub.edu
to csub.idm.oclc.org (new URL prefix).
For example,
this URL: https://falcon.lib.csub.edu/login?url=https://ebookcentral.proquest.com/lib/csub
will become:
https://csub.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https://ebookcentral.proquest.com/lib/csub.
At this time, links to library materials will be changed universally in Canvas mid-December 2023. However, as we approach the Winter Session, we advise instructors to please take the time to manually change those links to library materials that might be in syllabi, Google Classroom pages, Moodle content, etc. This will have to be done manually by using the Permalink option in OneSearch (or other databases if the resource is not in OneSearch). Please see the examples on this page for step-by-step instructions on creating permalinks. If you have any questions or need assistance, please email the library reference desk at: csub@calstate.libanswers.com.
"Permalinks" are permanent links to resources in our library collections. The following instructions explain how to find permalinks in several CSUB databases:
Locate the resource record in OneSearch. Click on the ellipses in the top-right corner of the resource and/or select the "permalink" icon below the resource description.
The permalink will display. Click on "copy the permalink to clipboard" and paste the URL to your course or document.
Permalinks in EBSCO databases:
Locate the resource record in EBSCO. In the resource record, under "Tools." Click on the "Permalink" icon.
The permalink will display above the resource description. Highlight and copy the permalink to paste into your course or document.
Locate the resource record in JSTOR. In the individual resource record, click on the permalink URL located directly under the title and citation. The permalink will copy automatically and is ready to paste into your course or document.
