 Tips before you start your research!

  • What types of sources do you need?
    • Primary or secondary sources?
    • Books or journal articles?
    • Popular publications for a general audience or scholarly resources for academics?
    • Recent materials or historical?
       
  • Brainstorm key words and synonyms for your topic
    • Example: children, youth, teenagers, adolescents
       
  • Use only important terms. Leave out words that may limit your search like causes, effects, pros, cons, increase, decrease.

Your student ID is your library card. You will sign into your library account the same way you sign in to your email. Students, faculty, and community members may all borrow books from the library. 

  • Students: 16 weeks from date of checkout

  • Faculty & Staff: 1 year from date of checkout
