California Department of Justice, Criminal Justice Statistics Center - contact the center directly to obtain copies of CJSC publications and statistical information on California's criminal justice system.

Legislative Analyst's Office - access reports by policy area, budget reports, and propositions and initiatives.

California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation - access reports on offender population, offender outcomes and characteristics, total population reports, and recidivism reports.

National Data

Bureau of Justice Statistics - The mission of BJS is to collect, analyze, publish, and disseminate information on crime, criminal offenders, victims of crime, and the operation of justice systems at all levels of government.

Council of Professional Associations on Federal Statistics (COPAFS) - they represent researchers, educators, civic groups and businesses that rely on the quality and accessibility of statistics collected by the federal government. Reports may be located here.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) - locate statistics on hate crime, view the National Use-of-Force Data Collection, utilize the Crime Data Explorer, view the Law Enforcement Suicide Data Collection, and various other resources through their webpage.

Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR) - An international consortium of more than 750 academic institutions and research organizations, Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR) provides leadership and training in data access, curation, and methods of analysis for the social science research community.

National Archive of Criminal Justice Data - NACJD hosts several large-scale datasets, including the National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS), the FBI's Uniform Crime Reports (UCR), the FBI's National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS), and the Project on Human Development in Chicago Neighborhoods (PHDCN).
