CSUB Antelope Valley Library: Home

CSUB Antelope Valley Library is CSUB's satellite library on the Antelope Valley Campus!

CSUB ANTELOPE VALLEY LIBRARY

The California State University, Bakersfield (CSUB) Antelope Valley (AV) Library is the branch library located on site at the Antelope Valley Campus of CSUB in Lancaster California! This campus library happily serves all CSUB AV students, staff, and faculty!

CSUB Antelope Valley Library

CSUB Antelope Valley Library is located at the AV Campus in Room 501. This library provides students with access to a librarian while at the same time improving efficiency and efficacy of the CSUB library and its staff in its work with AV students and faculty by providing access to the library at the point of need.

This service does not happen at the CSUB library. Instead, the CSUB library comes to the AV campus for a residency experience.

More About the Antelope Valley Campus

The distance of the CSUB AV library from the CSUB campus library is more than 90 miles and can be an impediment to use of library services. There are students & faculty across programs that never use the library because they are unable to make it to the CSUB Library.

Additionally, many programs at the AV campus are location specific to AV and should not require students to make a lengthy drive for students to do research. The CSUB AV Campus Library solves this problem by making most library resources available to students immediately or within a relatively short amount of time.

CSUB AV Library Hours

Currently, the library is offering virtual help exclusively as the physical site is closed due to the Covid-19. The CSUB AV librarian answers reference questions, provides help in the computer lab, offers instruction, and covers circulation and student account assistance.

There is only one librarian on duty, located in room 502 necessarily limiting availability of hands on help as well as timely user access to a librarian. However, there is assistance available via email and telephone from our Subject Specialist Librarians  and through 24/7 chat reference on our Library's home page.

Connecting From Off-Campus

Many online resources will require a login from off-campus. Simply enter your CSUB username and password when you see are asked to login. If you have questions concerning your CSUB account, please consult the IT Support Center.
