Tips for getting the most out of OneSearch

Looking at Search Results

When you do a search, the results page will show the following:

  • Items that most closely match your search
  • How many related results there are
  • The types of materials (articles, books, etc.) that match your search
  • Where you can find the materials (availability)
  • How to cite, email, save, etc. each result listed

More About Locations

These are the possible location and availability results in your search results:

Available at ... - "Available at" is followed by the name of the library the item is available at. This means that the item is currently available at that location, and applies to physical formats such as print journals, print books, and DVDs. Click on the "Find in Library" tab to get more information about where the item is. You can go pick up the item or have it delivered to a library near you.

Access Online - Is listed for electronic journals and eBooks that the CSUB library provides access to online. To get access, click the "Access online" tab and select what you would like to do. You need to be logged in to gain access to the content.

Full Text Available - Applies to electronic articles that the CSUB library provides access to online. Click the "Access online" tab to gain access to the full text of the article. You need to be logged in to gain access to the content

Check Availability from other CSU Libraries - This means that a book is not available at the CSUB Library; click the "Check holdings" link to learn more about how to get books from other libraries.

No Full Text - This means that a research article is not available at the CSUB Library; click the "No full-text" link and then the "Sign in for more options" link to learn more about how to get articles through Interlibrary Loan (ILL).
