The information and resources located in this guide were developed specifically for students in the Doctoral Program for Educational Leadership at CSUB to assist them in the interdisciplinary research surrounding the field of education. Use the information located here to get started and reach out to your librarian for more in-depth help with the research process, database searching, evaluation of sources, and more.

Borrowing Privileges

As a doctoral student at CSUB, you have full access to the resources available from the Walter W. Stiern Library

  • Reference assistance is available to you through individual research appointments with your subject librarian or you can speak with a librarian at the library's reference desk, over the phone, or through our 24/7 Chat service. Reach out to your librarian early to learn quick tips for searching the databases and getting started with research.
  • Databases and online resources are available 24/7 and must be accessed through the library's website. In order to FREELY access full-text articles the library holds, you must connect via proxy in this way. 
  • Physical resources from the library can be requested via OneSearch and picked up through the WSL Lockers or mailed to your home. Instructions for how to request items is located here: Borrowing Privileges 
  • Resource Sharing (Interlibrary Loan) allows current CSUB students, staff, and faculty to borrow materials from other libraries. To make a request, look for your item using OneSearch.
