The Historical Research Center in the Walter W. Stiern Library holds a small collection of books that are fragile or rare, University history documents and photographs, as well as a number of materials covering the political and social history of the southern San Joaquin Valley. Early California History: An Overview brought to you by the American History Project at the Library of Congress, this site gives an overview of California to 1900.

Books about California History are normally found in the F section on the third floor of the Stiern Library.
